I was at Coffee Bean some days ago, and ordered a drink.
The waitress who served me at that time then asked for my name, so that I can collect my drinks later on.
Waitress: Sir, may I know your name please?
Desmond: Desmond.
Waitress: Erm, sorry?
Desmond: It's Desmond.
Waitress: Err, how do you spell that, sir?
Desmond: D-E-S-M-O-N-D.
Waitress: Okayy... You may collect your drinks later when your name is called.
*10 minutes later*
Someone called my name but I'm not sure if it's me.
And so I proceeded to the counter, collected my Ice Blended Pina Colada and I found out this is how they spell my name.
One word. FAIL.

Happy National Day folks!
Several weeks ago, my aunt asked me if I'll be interested to join her, my uncle and my cousin, Eric to participate in the 25th National Day march past.
Without thinking twice, I agreed to join because it's special as Brunei is gonna celebrate 25 years of independence, which is simply the Silver Jubilee Celebration.
My aunt added that our group for the march past is actually representing the Wushu Association of Brunei, which is under the Chinese Community group.
Sounds complicated? I was confused too at first.
So, before the big day, I had trouble trying to sleep and woke up at roughly 4.30am next morning because I was too excited for the event! Not even counting sheeps would put me into a sleep that night.
Before heading to the National Stadium, we had to go pick up my cousin Eric's friend from his house.
It was around 5.45am already, and everywhere is still dark. Outside my cousin's friend's house, I saw this dog of theirs, locked inside a cage, barking at us madly.
I then took a picture of the dog with my flash on. The flash light hit straight to the eyes of the dog and I swear the dog was blinded for a few seconds!
But the funnier thing here, is that, the dog has lost it's voice.
So no matter how hard the dog tried to bark at us, we can barely hear anything!
Haha I didn't know that could happen!
Meanwhile, at 6 a.m., there's already a very long queue on the road to the stadium. That leaves us no choice but to park our car at somewhere in Pulaie, and had to walk to the meeting point for our group.
It was somewhere outside Orchid Garden Hotel. To my surprise, foods packed in polystyrene food-containers were already provided even though the sun has not even risen yet.
I expected the foods to be Nasi Lemak or Nasi Katok but out of all the foods I can possibly think of, they gave us fried chicken and burger from A. Ayam.
I chose to not eat it anyway, because I don't wanna risk troubling my stomach for the whole morning. I actually didn't even had my breakfast that morning.
Slowly, more and more people came.
From the picture, if you can see some people wearing white tees and black tracksuit, yeah, that's what I'm told to wear that morning before the "real attire" (jackets) for our group arrived.
When our jackets came, we're told to wear them throughout the whole march past. It was really hot, but at least it makes me feel 'rugged' with jackets. ^^
Those wearing bright baju kurungs are people from Majlis Wanita if I'm not mistaken.
And then again, after a while, the Chung Hwa Middle School group came, and I assume they're also under the group for Chinese Community.
Yeah, so now you see, the 'Chinese Community' group is divided into many sub-groups, all led by Pehin Kapitan China Lela Diraja Goh King Chin, and the real group I'm in was actually the Wushu group.
That's still okay, but in the end, out of all the ordinary, there came a big bunch of Filipinos, whom I then found out was also in our group.
They're lined up at the back of our group though.
The first thought that came into my mind was "What the heck???".
It took me quite a while to find out that they are actually workers and staffs of Liang Toon Departmental Store & A. Ayam Restaurant and were 'forced' to join the march past by their boss, and then somehow got situated and mixed with our group. Hmmm.. Wierd.
At least that explains where the fried chicken and burgers from A. Ayam came from.
And I could see some disatisfaction from their face, because some of them are unwilling to march 'properly' that they can't tell which foot to step when we say 'Kiri!' and which foot to step when we say 'Kanan!'.
How do I know? Well, because a police officer had to come and teach us again and again on how to march, when to wave your wage, when to look at the direction to our right, how to stop and so on.
Disclaimer: I'm not trying to be racist here. Everything that is being typed down are all according to my thoughts.
After waiting for how many hours, our turn for the march has finally came. I was trying to be careful on my steps, but I got confused along the way.
Prior to entering the stadium, I could hear cheers and enthusiam from the stands. (I suppose the cheers are not for our group)
Inside the tunnel, I hear very loud stamps on the wooden ramp, with everyone shouting "KIRI! KANAN! KIRI! KANAN! KIRI! KANAN! KIRI!".
"This is it," I thought.
Marching right onto the lane inside the stadium, I got confused with the steps again. Left has somehow become right to me. My other hand swung to the opposite direction. Everything went wrong.
Twenty-five seconds later, everything is over, and I found myself outside the stadium again.
"Argggh, that's a really bad performance", I keep saying to myself.
But I guess nobody would care, so I might as well just forget it.
I wanted to go up to the stands and watch the performances, but my uncle and aunt are reluctant as to avoid traffic jam after the show.
I saw some of my friends from school as well, but I didn't see Renzo. :'(
I'm not sure whether there'll be souvenirs for us, but at least I got my jacket, which is made by Aewon, for free.
It is also reversible, dark blue on one side, and sky blue on the other side.
Worth it?

The theme for this year's National Day Silver Jubilee celebrations is "Kedewasaan Bernegara", and it'll be held at the National Stadium.
Many may have thought the National Day should have been celebrated at Taman Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien at the capital every year but it is not.
"What's so special about the National Stadium anyway?", one may ask.
In case you don't know, the first National Day of Brunei Darussalam on February 23, 1984, was actually celebrated at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
More than 25 years ago, the National Stadium was a newly built iconic structure and is also considered as the most modern in the region.
Students and youths performed their displays on the field in front of the huge crowd at the Stadium. There were more than 10,000 students holding coloured umbrellas and flip cards to display various slogans.
Like what I did 3 years ago when I was in Form 4.
The first national day was marked with 1,984 balloons and 1,404 pigeons being released to mark both the Common Era and Hijra calendars. The first few National Days were held at the stadium before the celebrations were moved to the Taman Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien at the capital.
The Stadium also witnessed Brunei Darussalam successfully hosting the 20th SEA Games in 1999. The stadium also saw many Malaysia Cup matches being played on its field since 1984 with the greatest crowds during the run up to Brunei Darussalam winning its first ever Malaysia Cup also in 1999.
Besides, English football team Sheffield United has played here before!
Not only that, it is also the home stadium of local football team, DPMM FC, who will play host to Singaporean football team Super Reds on 5th March when they make their debut in the S. League this year.
Brunei Darussalam's Silver Jubilee Anniversary for the National Day will be celebrated at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium on 23rd February 2009.
So, be sure to watch RTB to catch the events on that day!

Damn! Time passes by soo quickly! I've said it a gazzilion times already! But seriously, it really seemed like I just posted my last entry yesterday. Therefore, in order to not make this blog look dead, I have no choice but to post this not-so-interesting entry xp
So how's life?
I'm happy to report that my life is pretty much sorted out thus far :D
i) After years of resistance, I finally set my mind up. With A level fast approaching, and no sign of improvement in my Economics (I totally blame it on the teacher), I've decided I should start my first ever tuition lesson!
I hope this will be well worth it.
ii) After much thought, I don't think A level English Literature is for me. I can't even tahan with AS literature! I'm only glad that there's only one more book left to cover.
Lucky I've sorted that out. Imagine the horror I would get if I did take A level lit! 4 Lord of The Ring size books to cover!!
iii) Aside from my studies, I will be taking my driving license soon! :D I will turn 18 in exactly 12 days! Hip hip hooray!
Looking forward to this! It will make things a lot easier.
iv) My life as a Manchester United supporter is getting better and better :D Few months ago, we were trailing far behind. Now, we are overlooking the others from the top of the table. The bliss to be on top again is unexplainable :D
Hopefully we will sweep all three domestic cups and defend the Champions League trophy. If we really do win all of em, I promise I'll cut botak :p lol just kidding!
Anyways, apart from all those crap above, DENcorp would like to wish everyone a

I didn't know he was back until Gary told me the other day. Apparently, he arrived in Brunei last Sunday. How come I didn't know about this?? :@ Hahaha.
Yes people, Andy Teo Siang Hoe is back!!
Fresh from Japan!
Earlier today, he invited us for a Chinese New Year open house at his place.
I was expecting a sort of reunion party. It turns out, almost all of the old gang couldn't make it. There's me, Desmond, Ayman, Najaah and Wafi. Other recognisable faces were Gwen and Jia Jia.
Come on, aren't you guys excited about Andy's return?xp
Anyways, as Desmond and I step our foot into the house, Andy's lil sister somehow recognised us!
She said, "You guys are from DENcorp,right? Desmond and Nazrin. Where's Edison?" Someone actually recognised us! I'm so touched :p The word "celebrity" immediately popped into my mind :p lol just kidding.
After eating, we bombarded Andy with questions about his adventure in Japan. Damn, it seemed like a great experience living in Japan for one whole year!
He's Japanese language skill obviously improved tremendously! At one point, when he was having a conversation with his Japanese-literate friend, he spoke Japanese like it was a piece of cake! He can even read and understand Japanese at a glance!
He was also involved in a Drama Club at his school. The club was able to produce one play which had Andy as an actor. They recorded the whole thing in a disc.
Cool~
As the house gets crowded, we decided to move into Andy's room. There, we couldn't help but checked out all of his Japanese imports :p

In the midst of the massacre, I found this curious object.
I didn't have the chance to ask Andy. So...what the fu*k is that?? Is that a fu*king calculator??!!
Before we head for home, Andy entertained us to a piano song. It was a song so reminisce that we immediately recognised it! It was the song Andy played in SOASC a few years back during the Singaporeans' visits!
If I'm not mistaken, we were in the exact same position as that time in SOASC - I was sitting beside him, Najaah was somewhere on the other side, Desmond was then recording the whole thing, and, Ayman and Wafi standing somewhere next to Desmond.
This time however, I was the one recording instead of Desmond!

First of all, my apology for the lack of updates.
The first day of the Chinese New Year has just gone by so quick, and I didn't even get to enjoy it to the fullest yet.
Seems like 2009 is a really busy year for me. I have to cope up with my studies, homeworks, tuition and with all that, there is really not much free time left for me to do things I enjoy doing.
At times, I wish I could do some exercises or take a jog down at Tasek but with the weather these days, adding up with all the overdued homeworks that I have, I have no choice but to abandon the plan.
In fact, I have a bad habit of not doing my homeworks at home but rather, doing it at school the next day during my free period, rushing everything up and down. And I can tell you, almost every time, I couldn't finish doing all of them.
How I wish there's really 48 hours in a day.
But that doesn't mean I don't have the time to sit down and do a proper blog entry. I love blogging. It's just that I don't know what else to blog about at times like this.
Most of the time, going to places/events, learning something new and discovering something I find weird or funny are what I would usually blog about.
And occasionally, it would take me up to 3 or 4 hours to finish a blog entry, and sometimes it took me days!
Because leaving the blog without new updates for so many days may make the blog look unwanted, I thought of making birthday entries, but what if it is someone's birthday and I've completely forgotten to blog about it?
Some of you complained the posts are not cali enough. I'll show you what's cali.
I even tried to post up pictures of places or signs with spelling mistakes, but some of you complained it's too boring.
Hmm.. Someone has got to do something about it..
So sekalang, saya tanya lu, what should I blog about??
