EAYLF 2008 - Last Day
Short talk : Bad day. What a stupid game played by Man Utd. Sigh. Can't believe I'm saying this, but Liverpool deserved to win last night. Man Utd played rubbish. Ok, go on Liverpool-ians, you can tease us all you want..
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *Mr. Hozefa Aziz Singapore Wala won the majority votes, and would present a speech to the director-general of ASEAN on behalf of us, later that night. In the meantime, we were given complete freedom in the morning. Us, the Bruneians decided to go to the National Stadium.Encountered this on the way.Hell yeah, toilets on the side of the road. Something you don't see in Brunei. You might wonder if we were going to watch some football game or something, but the answer is no. We went there to buy ourselves some football jerseys! The shops stretching around the National Stadium sell sports products only. There are tons of jerseys, boots, etc to choose from! And they are incredibly cheap! I bought a jersey which costs only BND$6! I'm not exaggerating! But of course, it doesn't really resembles its original copy. Don't worry, there are lots of shops to browse through, and many sell original-look-alike jerseys for around BND$20.
I found these in one of the shops:
Pretty cool, huh? I wish I could have one. These posters weren't for sale.* * *
After that, we got back to the hotel, and get ready for the big event that night. We were to dress in our national costumes. I decided not to wear my Cara Melayu, as I always had problems adjusting my Sinjang everytime. I didn't want to look like an idiot :PThe grand event was held in Central World Hotel, much to my delight. I tell you, Central World Hotel is far more grander than Eastin Hotel!I wish we had stayed there instead. Oh well, it doesn't really matter anyways.
Chandelier.
The table where we sat.
The musicians. The big guys from the ASEAN committee.
Basically, we went there to eat, listen to the speeches, watch some local performances, and dance to the ASEAN song infront of the ASEAN committee guys.
I think this guy is the director-general. If not mistaken la.
Most of us didn't bother to listen. Everyone was busy taking pictures with everyone, despite being right under the nose of the director-general of ASEAN.
Then, the dance:
Okay, the dance was pretty much chaotic. We didn't do what we practised back in the hotel. I kinda memorised the dance already. But I was surprised to see that the people beside me were doing some random motion. I didn't know what to do, so I tried to mimic some other guy beside me. Oh well, luckily we weren't in some kind of dancing competition, or else, we would be dead. The local performance followed up shortly.Since this would probably be the last day for most delegates, everyone was crazy about taking pictures. So I will just entertain you guys with pictures (I'm getting lazy at explaining stuffs). Here are some of the them (click to enlarge):
Chapter ends.
