Chilling at Rooftop Bar & Music
Since I really really don't have anything to blog about, I'll continue to write about my trip at Bangkok at the end of last month.
On my second night in Thailand, my uncle asked if I wanted to go to the highest floor of the 84-storey-tall hotel we lived in. Asked about what we'll do at the highest floor, my uncle told me that there is a bar on that floor and the view from there is terrific.
None of my family members wanted to go that night, not even my dad. So I "boarded" the elevator alone from the 51st floor to the 83rd floor, and almost immediately, I felt the air pressure.
The bar is on the 83rd floor, not the 84th floor.
I then met up with my uncle there. It was around 12.30am that time.
The bar is very dark, and most of the light comes from neon and somewhat more colorful than I thought.
The place is also full of noises. Not really noises, but it took me quite a while to realize that there is a live band performing on stage.
On the stage, there are not just one, but three female singers, a drummer and a keyboard player. The three female singers, being the lead vocals of the band are singing to a familiar song which I can't remember what the song title is. One of the singer was having such a hard time trying to do a very high pitched voice at one point of the chorus.
Aiyah, sing until so life-hard.. How would you be able to perform nicely on a live concert?
Hmmm...
Maybe if "Wong Lo Kat" act as the official drinks sponsor might help.
Me and my uncle chose a seat near where the people are singing. We were given a small menu to choose what food to order from.
We then placed our order and, at the same time, the waitress served us with free popcorns. My uncle was curious and tried the popcorn but after taking just a few bites, my uncle was about to request the waitress to have the popcorn taken away, claiming it tastes like crap.
But I haven't tried the popcorn yet! So I quickly stop him from doing it and took it back.
Ok, since my uncle won't be eating the popcorns again, I tried the popcorn to see what "crap" tastes like.
It was actually salted popcorn! Even The Mall Cineplex's salted popcorn tasted better!
Shortly, our "food" arrived. And we ordered mixed nuts. No foods here, but snacks.
And what I did that time was, eating nuts.. watch people singing.. eating nuts.. watch people singing.. eating nuts.. watch people singing.. eating nuts.. watch people singing.. eating nuts.. wahh! Totally different from what I've imagined!
I also ordered cocktail as drinks. Fruit cocktail, not alcoholic cocktails.
And then, half way eating the nuts, the band then left the stage and went to somewhere else to rest I think, leaving the stage empty while we were left listening to some of the most recent English hits song.
But then again, the band returned in less than 15 minutes.
This time, the guy who played the keyboard is the one who sing while the three girls did the cha cha on stage.
As it was getting late already, we finished eating the nuts and our drinks quickly and then went back to our hotel rooms respectively.
At least now I know what the view from 83rd floor looks like!
