Ukatrats FC 2006/07 Jersey Review

This post is actually related to last year's happenings.
----------------------

What unites a football team?

It's the teamwork, commitment, confidence and of course, the color of the team!

Our football team kept us in search for a team jersey so badly last year. We went to any shops we can find in Brunei and then finally, we chose to make our jersey at Imperiall Sports Shop.

We saw a dark blue jersey being hung on the rack, and chose to use that jersey.

So instead of using dark blue as the main color, we requested them to change the base color of the shirt from dark blue to white and the other linings to gold.

I even made a sample to show the makers what exactly we wanted, so they wouldn't make a mistake..

I was so poor in using Photoshop that time..

We even made a sample of the pants.

And, after months and months of waiting, the jersey was finally ready to be collected. We then went to the shop as soon as possible right after we got the news.

And to our "surprise", THIS is the shirt.

The quality of the shirt was less than satisfactory!

The design of the jersey was far off than the jersey we chose earlier. The material of the shirt was too thin and the collar was too wide. And the logo somehow seems printed instead of sewed. The Nike logo looked so fake.

The letters and number are so sticky that everytime you lean on your back, you can hear the "sticky" sound.

The color of the gold linings are not what we expected.

And also the pants, it was so damn short!

It looks more like a swimming trunk instead of a football pants! My friend Najaah even wore it to swimming at the end of last year.

Nevertheless, they also gave a pair of socks for every jersey we make.

All I can say is, the socks were too tight. Even I don't want to wear the socks. I would wear my other socks rather than this one.

After all this, we only wore the jersey together as a team ONCE!

So far, Ayman is the only person to have worn the shirt almost everytime we play football.

Very loyal eh?

So do you think we should make a new football jersey after this bitter experience and wear a normal sports t-shirt while playing football next time? We wouldn't opt for a custom-made jersey anymore. Although discussions to make a new jersey are breaking down, changes in decision could happen anytime..

Initially, we planned to unveil the new jersey (if we made one) on the 1st Anniversary of the team, that is, on 16th November.

And if we're making a new jersey, what squad number should I use? I may not stick to #5 anymore..
