Sorry for the bad photography. It's actually "Majlis". Not "Ajlis".
First of; not canceling the first two lessons of the day is a point blank stupid idea. Secondly, the event followed was a mess. It was very unorganized. Thirdly, there were hardly any chairs for the students to sit on (The chairs were fully reserved for teachers only!) So what we did was standing up the whole day like idiots!
Much to my disappointment, the majority of my classmates agreed that everyone would each sponsor $7 for food catering and table decorations. I gave in because I thought the more expensive we invest, the higher chance we would win the table contest. The winner would be judge in terms of its decorations, foods and services. Unfortunately, it turns out that we didn't even win anything at all!! Argh! There goes my $7 T-T
What our table offered:
Yea, the almighty cheese cake!
Don't be fooled! It's empty!
Pretty simple,eh? All that for a whooping $7 *sob* I heard Desmond's tutor group only need 20 cents from each students!!
Now see what the other tables offered:
Looks a bit messy, but credits to creativity.
The "Pelita".
Protruding tissues.
Umm magnetic sweets? Sticky sweets?
Ketupat.
Chocolate fountain!
Yummy!
Another chocolate fountain!
Donuts..
..and even bananas!
See the difference between our table and the others?
BE7. The eventual winner of this whole thing.
Congrats to the guys and girls (including Za'imah Aqilah :p) for winning! Queen said the winner will get to have free treat at Chill. I expected something better.
Ok that pretty much sums up the table contest between classes.
Now, following up the table contest were a bunch of performances. There's the Choir group, who always had to accompany us to sing the National Anthem and the School song. Don't ask me why we must sing the National Anthem on such occasion. Didn't seem patriotic to me.
Followed by a speech by the principal, which hardly anyone bothered to listen.
The new principal's looks had been a mystery to me for the past few months. This was actually my first time seeing the principal clearly!
Following suit was Husaif's (everyone's favourite prefect) syair performance...
..To which this guy listens intently.Surely there must be something going on between them! :p Because, shortly afterwards, there's this event where teachers (and non-teaching staff members) had to ermm do something to chosen students? Ok, that sounds so wrong.
Aha! No wonder! They even wore the same colour! And to add things up, they wore pink! No doubt there must be something between them :p lol just kidding~
Some students were mummified.
It was the drama club that performed next. I tell you, it was so typical that it bored me to death. If you noticed, all Bruneian school dramas with the teacher's day theme would have a character who always did bad things in school, and then ends up with regret as he somehow learns a valuable lesson. And to make things worst, the MD drama club didn't make any use of the sound sytem! This resulted in poor audial performance by them!
I would rather take any of Husaif's performances anytime over these typical dramas! :p
Ok the story goes like this (Thanks to Ayman Vami who provided me with an acoount of the story): Setting in a classroom (typical), the story starts with the students lead by another more villainous student teases their male class teacher. This leads to the teacher getting really upset, and ran away from class. Then suddenly the more villainous student shouts out, "I have conquered this school!" The class cheered. They went home. The protagonist decided to stay, for some unknown reason. Then out of thin air, a ghost appeared. The ghost kept on shouting, "I am a ghost! I am a ghost! I am Hantu Raya!" *audiences laughed like hell* The protagonist, obviously scared, decided to push the ghost, just like a typical samseng would do.
However, the ghost appeared unscathed. Instead he kept on reminding everyone he is a ghost. Okay okay, everyone gets it. Geez. Then the ghost fast forwarded time to the future. The setting remained unchanged. The desks are still the old brown graffitied piece of s*it. The future doesn't look very much promising :p
The villainous student is now a teacher. The ghost stayed behind him to continue haunting him. The villainous student (now a teacher) was teased by his students. But unlike the first teacher in the first part of the story, this dude had balls. He didn't run away. Instead he beats the crap out of the students. The students went home shortly afterward.
The ghost stopped time, and said, "Do you learn your lesson now, boy?" The dude was transported back to the present time, and immediately beg for the coward teacher for forgiveness. The drama closed, followed by a narration, "The morale of the story is to respect your teachers, or you will learn your lesson the hard way".
I couldn't believe my eyes that some people actually enjoyed this!
Well, I don't want to be very bias. The good point of the drama is of the time travelling, which proves some creativity. Still, they should feel lucky they weren't performing in SOASC. I'm sure they will be boo-ed from starting to ending. Such is the way we SOASC-ian behave :p
Moving on. The teachers award ceremony. I'm not sure who won, due to the poor sound system of MD. The only ones I know are:
The teacher who cycles everyday to school (I think he's called Mr. John Winter) won the Most Humorous Teacher Award.
Sir Faisal won the Smartest-Looking TeacherAward (I think).
Miss Cristina Chong won the Teacher with the Sweetest-Smile Award.
Miss Jessie Chong won the Most Fashionable Teacher Award.
Dr. Chia won The Most Creative Teacher Award.
Congrats teachers :)
The climax of the occasion was no doubt a karaoke performance by the most popular guy in school! Yes folks! We are talking about Law Foo Kui (and the band)!
Haziq obviously proud to take a picture with the star.
I'm honoured to take pictures of him :p He responded well to my camera. Such photogenity!
An extract from Wikipedia: Law Foo Kui (born 1991) is a Bruneian rockstar, model, dancer and astronaut. He has won six Grammy Awards as well as an Emmy Award. He has recently won a Nobel Peace Prize for his contribution to the media industry.
Foo Kui came to fame as the vocalist of the Law Foo Kui Band. In 2008, he released his self-titled album, which sold more than 12 million copies worldwide. His hit song "Menjelang Hari Raya (Remix version)" has top the chart in the US, UK, Australia, Japan, as well as France. In October 2008, he announced in an interview that he will be translating his songs into various other languages. This resulted in him being awarded a Nobel Peace Prize, as his intention touched the hearts of many.
A star indeed!
Okay, now listen to his music video. (Also pay close attention to the guitar background performance)
Honestly speaking, I think this is by far the best performance that day. His voice wasn't that bad. I wasn't expecting that :p At least Law didn't perform it with a serious face, unlike many others. Gotta create a Law Foo Kui fan club :p

Rays Of Heaven Shines On UAE!
Short talk: Feel as if I'm promoting UAE :P You'll see. Pictures are courtesies of the linked websites.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
The United Arab Emirates has never failed to impress me, in terms of architecture. They are able to completely transform what was once a desert full of nothingness into an unimaginable city full of wonders.
The world's tallest hotel, Burj Al-Arab resides here.
There's the trendy-looking Abu Dhabi International Airport.
The jaw-dropping Dubai Marina. As for the term "Marina", you guys can check it out here.
You guys must have heard about the Burj Dubai, the soon-to-be the tallest man made structure in the world. It will be completed by 2009.
The World real estate project development is a group of artificial archipelago constructed in the shape of the world map. Who would have thought of doing such a feat! And to think that this project has recently been successfully completed! You can start purchasing your own private "country" here :P
Ras Al-Khaimah might be one of the lesser part of the emirates, but they sure shows some balls as to prepare a list of ambitious projects.
Al Marjan Island. Another man-made island. It's planned completion is in 2009.
Bab Al Bahr. The ultimate destination of the Al-Marjan Island, brings alive a vision. The vision to create the ideal home that makes basking in the warmth of idyllic island living possible.
RAK Financial City. This 750,000 m2 project valued at USD0.8 Billion, will include uniquely designed towers ranging from 30 to 65 floors, which will contain offices, residential apartments, hotels, commercial areas and related services. A novel architectural approach has been used to design this property, which brings out a softer, more fluid, sculptural manner. Design work for RAK Financial City commenced in December 2006."
Impressive, isn't it? And so on~ It's too many to list down everything!
Very ambitious projects, I must say. I wonder how UAE will look like in the future, when all these projects are complete. I'll add UAE to my list of "Must Visit Countries" :P
To think that Brunei's best modern architectural structure is the DST Tower T-T Brunei sure has a looooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnng way to go. I wish somehow the government will revive the utterly destroyedJerudong Park or reconstruct the Kampong Ayer, as a start.
More updates coming soon!

Different Districts Of Brunei Got Time Difference
Everyone in Brunei should have at least heard of the tower clock landmark at the heart of the capital none other than Bandar Seri Begawan.
It is situated right in the middle of the crossroad near the Taman.
It is so old and yet very precious that everytime when the clock is not functioning properly, there'll be newspaper reports about it.
This is a newspaper report from a few days ago, briefly urging relevant authorities to fix the clock right.
Not only that, even tourists and foreigners gave their opinions about the clock that has gone faulty.
But out of all the ordinary, an Indian worker said something I couldn't help but laugh my ass off.
Okay, he may be forgiven for being a foreginer, but I actually thought that everyone who has ever stepped foot in Brunei MUST have at least seen the tiny map of Brunei.
How can there be any time difference between the districts which are just so close together?
Ohhh Ahmad~ What's wrong with you?? =p

TVXQ Request
Haha I know I'm kinda delayed for this entry, my bad on that part =p Well anyways, I'm gonna post this entry as requested by one of our fellow taggers, stranger (And yes most of us still don't know who you are so I'm just gonna refer you as it is).
Alright so let me just cut to the chase, this is for those who have no idea or is new to TVXQ (Info Extracted From Wikipedia):
TVXQ (often stylized TVXQ!), an acronym for Tong Vfang Xien Qi (東方神起), is a quintetSouth Koreanboy band formed under SM Entertainment in 2003, and later introduced to Japan under Avex Trax in 2005. Since their debut, TVXQ has become one of the most popular singing groups in East Asia, gaining great popularity in South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, and other East Asian countries.
TVXQ is referred to as Dong Bang Shin Ki (동방신기) in South Korea; fans often abbreviate the name to DBSK. The Japanese equivalent of the group's name is Tōhōshinki, which is promotionally only used in Japan. TVXQ, the acronym based on the Chinese counterpart of their name, is the abbreviation officially used on all products and advertisements outside of Japan. TVfXQ is also used, but not often. Their name roughly translates as "Rising gods of the East." (동방의 신이 일어나다).
Here is a picture of 5 of the members having their photo taken when they were in Paris, France.
In short, the 5 of 'em can sing and surely they can dance well too. Especially U-Know, as he was the only 1 among the 5 to join TVXQ through winning 1st place in a dance competition. As TVXQ gained alot of popularity, he quickly became 1 of the best dancing singers in the Korean music industry. No sooner than that, he also became the leader of the group. As for the 4 other members, Xiah & Max gained their spot in the group with their powerful voice. Hero had to take on 5000 other people in an audition to get his spot though but he took 1st place both in best looking & best vocals. Last but not least, Micky got his shot when he became a winner of a talent show and was given a chance to sign a contract with the group's company.
Recently, they had released their 4th Korean Album entitled "MIROTIC"on 26th September of this year. Two days after its launch in music stores, "Mirotic" rose on music sale charts. According to Hanteo charts, the CD-only version of “Mirotic” has sold 90,000 copies as of September 30. It has risen to #1 on the weekly and monthly charts. The album has also topped Hot Tracks, Yes24, and other music sale charts. A Japanese-language release of the title song is scheduled for release in mid-October.
So here we have "MIROTIC":
The subs really remind me off the series Alias Lolz~
Oh & just for kicks I'm gonna throw in this video as well, U [Mandarin Version] by Super Junior M:
You gotta love the violin solo part XD
To be updated again.........by either of my partners hehe =)

Photoshop Basic Tutorial 1
Short Talk: Jimbo will be restarting his private league in the game Fantasy Premier League. We urge you guys to participate. It's free!xD The league will officially start on Gameweek 8, which is about 2 weeks from now. If interested, just tag, and we will give you the password :)
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
I've received numerous requests (Actually 2 only) to post up a Photoshop tutorial. So I guess it's time for me to do it today :)
You can download Adobe Photoshop here. But it's a 30 days trial version. You can try torrent downloading the full version from websites such as torrentreactor. But I don't really trust 'em. There's a slight chance for the file you downloaded to be virus infected. Therefore, I suggest you go purchase it at Unitek instead (The cheapest and most trsuted one). Or you can borrow it from me :P I got Photoshop CS2. Adobe Photoshop CS4 is yet to release.
Ok, here is a basic tutorial of Photoshopping for amateurs. So expect this tutorial to be a lil bit too basic. Note that I'm still a noob in Photoshop myself. However, I'll try my best to make it simple and brief, so that everyone will understand :)
I'm using a tutorial book called How to use Adobe Photoshop CS2 by Daniel Giordan to guide me in this post. This tutorial aims at Windows user. I dunno how to use MacBook xD
Now, the tutorial:
+Welcome to Photoshop+
Know your equipments. This will help as reference in case you have any questions you might want to ask me later on.
+How to use the Tool Box+
1) Open the Photoshop Tool Box. The Tool Box should appear automatically on the desktop, but it can be closed, which means you have to reopen it. To open the toolbox, select Windows on the Menu Bar, and click Tools.
2) Select a Photoshop Tool.
Click a tool to select it. If the tool button contains a small triangle in the lower-right corner, that tool offers additional tool options in a pop-out menu. Right click the tool button to view the pop-out menu. Then you can select one of the additional tools.
3) Test It Out! It will take days for me to explain the function of the tools one by one. I suggest you test it all out by yourself. If you are aiming to be a wallpaper artist, then the Brush Tool and Type Toolwill be your most frequently used tool.If you simply want to edit pictures, then the Rectangular Marquee Tool, Magic Wand Tool, Crop Tool, and Brush Tool will be the main ones.
+How to use the Menu Bar+ Again this will be time consuming if I were to explain each of the menu functions. So as to save time, I will only explain the important ones. Perhaps I might write up another tutorial for the other functions later on, provided that you guys still want more :P 1)Using the File menu. The File menu provides the basic opening, closing and saving of files. This menu covers the import/export of files, workflow management and automated tasks, as well as page setup and print options.
You click on New to start a fresh empty page of image.
This will pop up. You will adjust your preferred image setup here, before proceeding onto the fresh empty page.
You click on Open to import files. No need to explain. Baby stuff :pSo as the Save and Save As tab.
2) Using the Filter menu.
For new users, I strongly suggest you to start with this menu. It provides lots and lots of image editing tools.
This menu will not function, unless you open up an image first (Not a blank one!). New users should try every tools starting from Artistic until Texture first.I'll explain how Vanishing Point works in my later entry (only happens by popular demand xp). I have no idea how Video, Other and Digimarc works though! Now, enjoy the effect :D
+Brushes and Fonts+
Good brushes and fonts make good wallpaper. That's how this blog's banner came into being :P It's rather simple actually. All you need is those two, and a good sense of creativity :P
Brushes and fonts can be downloaded. You just have to google it up. Simple.
If you're lazy, then click one of these following links:
Extract them into its appropriate destination. You can extract the brushes anywhere though. It doesn't matter. Fonts you have to extract it toC:\WINDOWS\Fonts, depending on your main hard disk drive la. Mine is Local Disk (C:).
Ok, extracting the files is pretty simple actually. Follow these steps.
1) WinRAR and WinZIP are the most common compression program for extraction. They both provide the same function. So both are pretty much similar. Download the brushes or fonts, and open it up.
A winRAR icon file.
2) A menu will pop up. Click "Extract To" on the upper left corner of the menu.
3) A sub menu will pop up.
4) If you want to extract Fonts, select the destination, until you reach C:\WINDOWS\Fonts. If you don't get it, it's ok. Just paste C:\WINDOWS\Fonts onto the "destination path" bar. Like this:
5) Now, to activate the fonts in your Adobe Photoshop, open "My Computer". Then open "Local Disk (C:)". Then proceed to open "WINDOWS". Then open up "Fonts". Then you can close the whole thing. The fonts should then be ready for use. If you're not sure what to do, restart your computer. I think that should do the trick :)
If you ever get a message like this, while opening up My Computer, Local Disk (C:), WINDOWS, bla bla bla..
..You just have to simply click "Show the contents of this folder"under the System Task on the left hand side of the screen.
6) Extracting brushes requires no specific destination. However, for the sake of organizing everything, I recommend you to extract it to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Presets\Brushes, depending on where you install your Adobe Photoshop. Don't worry about the destination. It won't harm even if you just extract it onto your desktop, as long as you don't delete it! Now, redo steps 1 until 4, except you paste the thing with C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Presets\Brushes this time.
7) To activate your brushes, open the Adobe Photoshop program.Click the Brushes on the upper right hand corner of your desktop, just above the Palletes.
A hidden menu will be displayed.
Now click the tiny little button, on the right side of the word Brushes.
Another sub menu will pop up.
Click "Load Brushes..."and yet another menu will pop up.
Select the brushes that you have just extracted earlier. Click Load and Wala, your brushes are now activated :)
7) Test it out! It's easy :) Click the Brush Toolunder the Tool Box. You will notice a change on the Option Bar.
Click on the tool that I highlighted above, and a menu will be pulled down.
Now you can finally select the Brushes that you have just loaded :) Enjoy ;)
As for Fonts, you do the same thing, except you select the Type Tool under the Tool Box. Everything should be easy after that :)
Phew! This is quite a long entry! I hope you guys will understand it. If you have any doubts or wish to inquire anything to do with Photoshop or this entry, feel free to tag on the tagboard :)
If you all wish for more tutorials, then just tag also. Note that this tutorial is very basic, and I'm sure most of you crave for cooler Photoshopping technique, like the Vanishing Point or the "Body Replacement" technique for instance :P

Cheated by China man?
Some of you might know that going to the gym is what I have been doing all this while to keep myself busy and active during the holidays.
My regular gym partner is Kevin.
So on Monday, when Me and Kevin were about to leave the gym, there were two Chinese men at the counter. They approached and spoke to us with very proper Mandarin to which I think is somewhat similar to mainland Chinese accent.
Between them, the person who did most of the talking is a man who addresses himself as Mr Paul Yong.
Mr Paul Yong, in his 50s, said he's looking for interested candidates to join the weightlifting association of Brunei that has yet to be reformed.
Standing beside Mr Paul Yong is a tough and well built China man, who claims to be one of the National Weightlifting coach of China that has won 8 gold medals and a silver medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics!
That sounded alright, and we were asked some pretty standard questions like how old we are, which school are we from and stuff like that. The conversation lasted for about 20 minutes.
He also told us that we might even get the chance to participate in prestigious sport events in the future like the SEA Games, Commonwealth Games and even the Summer Olympics!
At that point in time I could not believe my luck. I believed Mr Paul Yong right away. He even gave me his name card.
From L to R: Kevin, the China National Weightlifting 'coach', Me
That day, I started to daydream about myself being a weightlifter, winning gold medals, turning into a cocky and arrogant bastard, posing and flexing muscles in front of thousands of photographers and so on.
Mr Paul: We're looking for people around the age of 12 - 14, but I think it should be alright for you both, although for your age, you both will be starting a bit late. Desmond: Is there any fees to be paid if we join? Mr Paul: No lahh! There is no fee to be paid. This whole thing is backed by the government. So you don't have to worry about paying for anything. Kevin: So when do we start this thing? Mr Paul: Well, we're not sure yet, we still need to find more people to join. We've only just started. Kevin: So how about the foods we eat? Will there be a special diet for us? Mr Paul: Well yeah, the coach will tell you what food to eat. He'll handle it. Desmond: May I know how should we address you? Mr Paul: Oh, okay, call me Mr Yong, my surname is Yong. Oh wait, I got my name card inside my wallet, let me see... Okay, there you go. *hands me the name card* Mr Paul: One thing you must know, I'm a Bruneian. I don't know much about weightlifting, I'm just helping this man around town to look for and 'recruit' people who are interested in weightlifting, so that this man can use his EXPERTISE to teach you all more about weightlifting.
Luckily for me, I even get to secretly record parts of the conversation using my phone. Don't worry if you don't understand Chinese, cause there's subtitles.
Everything he said seems alright, but the problem is, can I believe him?
Meanwhile yesterday, Kevin called Mr Paul's mobile at around 10am in the morning but to his surprise, it says the number dialed is incorrect. Weird. So Kevin called Mr Paul's house, and luckily it rang, only to be picked up by Mr Paul's maid saying Mr Paul is not in. Kevin then asked for Mr Paul's mobile phone number, but the maid said he doesn't have a mobile!
Fishy!
Kevin, being desperate, called Mr Paul's house again at 11.30. Luckily, Mr Paul is the one who picked up this time. Kevin then proceeded to ask him when is the weightlifting thingy gonna start, but Mr Paul replied it won't be so soon, because they still need to wait for full approval of the coach from China by the Bruneian government first. He even added that everything will be up to the government.
Kevin also asked Mr Paul the reason why the operator girl said the number is incorrect when he tried to call his phone but Mr Paul said he did not turn on his mobile phone.
Hmm.. Suspicious..
If this is all true, how is the training like?
Is all this real? Is Paul and the China man just some cheaters or bomohs trying to take our advantage? Is this all a very well rehearsed lie?
Wanna join? Just give me your details and I'll contact Mr Paul for you. =p

Salam Aidilfitri
...
Crap. My Malay looks terrible! I just thought it would be a good idea to write up something in Malay, seeing that I am Malay myself. Gotta preserve my originality, if y'get what I mean.
Hmmm..let's try Malay Brunei:
Aku mengambil kesampatan ani mengucapkan Selamat Ari Raya arah semua urang di negara ani. Sorry ah kalau aku ada buat kesalahan arah kamu. Mudahan saja kitani kena rahmati dengan kegembiraan masa ari yang mulia ani lah xD
Ok wtf...I'll just say it in English la:
I'm taking this chance to wish every Muslims in this country a happy Raya. I ask for forgiveness if I ever did anything wrong, or hurt you guys in any way (that includes you Non-Muslims). Let's hope we will be blessed with happiness (and money) on this very special day :)
Ok ok anyways, my point for this entry is....
SELAMAT HARI RAYA! MAAF ZAHIR & BATIN.
SAVE GLORY DAY! SORRY PHYSICALLY & SPIRITUALLY. (Edison was the one who came up with this translation)
The great things about Hari Raya:
-You can (finally) eat all you want. -You don't have to wake up so early before sunrise to eat anymore. -You get to collect money. -You get to eat cakes, kuih-muih, etc, which are rarely available on any other day, except on Hari Raya. I'm craving for Tapak Kuda, Ketupat, and Dodol!! -You get to hear Hari Raya songs everywhere :D I don't know about you guys, but I love to hear 'em. It really pumps up the Raya mood in me. -You get to collect money.
The bad things about Hari Raya:
-AS LEVEL EXAM IS GETTING EVEN REAL CLOSER NOW! T-T
How I wish I could just send a leather-jacket robot assassin back into the past to kill the guy who invented exams.
