At World's End

Short talk from the slightly known:
Haaiz, Manchester United just lost…I expected a draw. Oh well, it’s no big deal. That doesn’t mean I’m not a loyal United fan. It’s just that I’m not expecting them to win the league this season (Kicking Liverpool's ass would be enough); I expect them to excel in the Champions League. Of course, it would be a bonus if they do win the league.

Ronaldo

Moving on…

Let’s give our last respect to Benazir Bhutto, who just passed away…Al Fatihah…

After all that has been happening around the world, I’m sure many of us had thought about what would happen in the future. Continuous terrorism? Relentless poverty? Major global warming? Doomsday?

Tiah

Vincent terrorising
An example of terrorising a good looking Vincent

Doomsday…Could it be triggered by the unthinkable minds of humans? Let’s see…

1. People are getting nuts these days. Some governments of the world think the Harry Potter series is causing a threat to all readers.

They claimed that the readers will be entranced by its magical world and ultimately promotes the rise of witchcraft. Nuts. Absolutely nuts.

Harry's innocense

I mean don’t these people realizes that there are something more important than creating a fuss about a small thing like this? It’s just a freakin’ book, for goodness sake!

2. The death of Benazir Bhutto is just another example. She’s trying to unite Pakistan! And she was killed for that. It’s amazing how some people think. Again, absolutely nuts.

3. Poverty. No one seems to care about it. Pitiful.

Andy
One of Andy's famous quotes.

Well, if you have lots of money, instead of worrying which car should you buy next, it’s better if you donate to charity. To tell you the truth I’m not exactly the charity type too. But if I am a successful man one day, I’ll donate. I feel like somebody else need it more than I do (Wayne Rooney taught me that).

Super Gerrard

4. Terrorism. Almost forgot about that. I don’t get those Al-Qaeda dudes. I don’t even know what their intentions are. I didn’t know they existed in the first place until my friends told me. I thought they were some kind of boy band from the Middle East.

BackStreet Qaeda
The Qaeda Boys

But no they aren’t really that different. They are actually a group of Spartan warriors from the Middle East!

300 Qaeda

All and all, this is just another example of the end of the world. Nuts.

5. Remember my previous post about Malacca? Remember Ronald McDonald? Yea, he’s just another example of Doomsday…in a way. He depicts a helpless man who can’t do what’s left to save the world. He can only wait for fate to decide his destiny. Poor Ronald…

Ronald McDonald

Well actually I was just using this reason to upload the above picture. It has nothing to do with a helpless man or whatever crap. Or maybe.

Just thinking about Doomsday sends a chill through my spine. Oh well…Be sure to comment! Or tag!

Malacca - My Second Home

Photobucket

My Grandma's home.

Yeap, truly my second home. My Mum’s a Chinese Malaccan whereas my Dad’s a Malay Bruneian. I guess that makes me a Chi-lay. Or a Ma-Nese. Or…whatever…

Anyways, I spent the last few days in Malacca after a restless week in KL. It was way quieter than KL. Peace, at last.

Malacca is the most historic state in Malaysia. I’ve got proofs too. I visited the oldest Buddhist temple in Malaysia, which is located in Malacca.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

This temple was built in the 15th century (in the 1600s). That’s how old it is. Simply amazing.

Photobucket

Though I might not be Buddhist, I respected the religion. Heck, I respected all the religions in the world. Unlike some typical Bruneian Malays (although I’m Malay myself. Or Chi-Lay. Or…you get me)…

Photobucket

Looks spooky...

Photobucket

I didn't see any tortoises...and there wasn't any pond, to start with (it dried up)

Photobucket

After that, we stopped by Dataran Pahlawan. If you’re expecting another ancient barrack or the sort, then you’re wrong. It’s a relatively small shopping mall actually. Just about the size of 2 Jaya Hypermarts.

Photobucket

The things inside aren’t that interesting though. It is more like a souvenir mall. There are a hell lot of antique stuffs inside.

Photobucket

Antique stuff...

Well anyways, outside that mall is Taman Merdeka.

Here are some pictures I took.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Arsenal!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

The following day, during the Raya Haji celebration (which coincides with the Tang Yuan Festival…I think), we went to Perigi Hang Tuah (Direct translation: Lucky’s Well). Told you, Malacca is historic.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

That’s my first time seeing a well up close.

Later that night, we went to Jusco.

Guess what? I saw this behind the complex…

Photobucket

Photobucket

…Ronald McDonald!! He’s not supposed to be treated like that! Where is the justice in this world?!

The next day is my departure day. I saw ‘them’ on the way to the highway…

Photobucket

Haha! It’s a freaking Kereta Lembu (Translation: Err…Cow’s car?)!!

Photobucket

Well then…that’s about it. My whole epic adventure in Malaysia has now come to an end…

Not to worry, I’ll still continue posting entries! Until then, have a nice day!

Merry Christmas

Wishing everyone a merry jolly Christmas! To honour this day, here are the pictures of Christmas trees that I took in 4 of the largest shopping complexes in Malaysia

KLCC’s Christmas tree is no doubt the tallest of all!

Pavilion’s white and unique Christmas tree!

Mid Valley City’s multiple large trees!

Times Square’s simple but good looking tree!

So which of the above is your favourite?? Do drop us a comment or two!

May you all have a great day!

By this time you should know that all posts in RED font are from me (Nazrin) whereas all posts in BLACK font are Desmond’s.

P/s I haven’t went out yet, so I’m not sure whether Brunei has got some cool Christmas deco or not.

Comic Fiesta 2007

Aha! This is it! The time has finally come! The true highlight of my days in KL!

Ladies and gentlemen, I present you…Comic Fiesta 2007!

Photobucket

It was held in Times Square. A really big event for all Japanese lovers! That includes me as well.

Photobucket
A section in Times Square.

RM10 per entry. Really worth it! They even give you this for every tickets purchased.

Photobucket
Powder! The new magazine! And nice calendar too!

Okay, before we proceed even further, let me explain the meaning of cosplay first. Cosplay is an event in which people will dress up as their favourite anime or game character. Still don’t get it? Never mind, I got plenty of pictures to show!

There are a hell lot of people in this small place for an event.!

There are just a lot of characters that I’m not familiar with. Anyone who knew the character please drop a comment. I will number every cosplay picture that I’m not sure of.

Photobucket
1. Any clue?

Photobucket
2. Street fighters, is it?

Of course, it wasn’t just cosplays! There are a lot of people selling figurines, Mangas (Japanese comics), Animes, arts, posters, etc.

Photobucket

There are Doujinshi Mangas too! What? Don’t know what the f*ck is Doujinshi? Hehe Google it yourself xp!

Photobucket
Ah... A lame Sephiroth (Final Fantasy 7 and Kingdom Heart series).

Photobucket
3. They posed for me! No idea who they are cosplaying though...

Photobucket
Cool promotion

Photobucket
Yuffie Kisaragi (Final Fantasy 7 and Kingdom Hearts series)

It is inevitable that there will be a lot fat cosplayers. The picture above is an example. Sorry Yuffie if you’re reading this…

Photobucket
Yondaime Hokage (Naruto)

Photobucket
From left to right: Hollow Ichigo, true Ichigo, Zaraki Kenpachi and ummm Grimm Reaper? (Bleach except for the last one)

Photobucket
Ruuuuuukiaaaaaaa-chaaaaan~ (Bleach)

Photobucket
4. .......

Photobucket
5. Left to right: Guy In White, Tenten (Naruto), Bongun (Ragnarok Online), Unidentified school girl, Shinjiro Aragaki (Persona 3)

Photobucket
6. They look like sisters. No idea who they are cosplaying...

Photobucket
Misa Misa!!! (Death Note)

There were hundreds more cosplayers! There was even a cosplay competition, joined by about 50 cosplayers. They had to pose in three different ways when they are on stage. That’s it!

Photobucket
Cosplayers getting ready to walk onto stage

Photobucket
The stage

There were no seats. So the audience had to sit down on the floor to watch the whole competition. This later resulted in a crazy numbness on my feet.

Photobucket
People watching behind me

Photobucket
Clockwise from top: the host, the event manager (overlapping her is her assistant, I think), Mr Pervert!

Photobucket
Left to right: Aizen Sousuke (Bleach) and Tayuya (Naruto)

The above picture is an example of what cosplayers did on stage.

Photobucket
Just kidding! It's not his fault anyways! Why'd the girl had to wear so sexy? XD

Photobucket
7. All the contestants. Anyone who successfully named every cosplayers on stage will be given 72 virgins! XD

Photobucket
Tell me what you see first in the above picture.

Photobucket
Lame ass Vincent Valentine (FF7)...

.........

During half-time, in which the judges will do calculation for the cosplayers, we decided to go outside to eat. There’s no need to tell about my lunch. After that we returned.

On the way, we spotted Pac-Man running around after a ghost in the mall itself! That caught everyone by surprised! It was quite funny though!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Haha! Too bad he didn’t join the competition!

Proceeding…

Photobucket
8. So far, Zaraki Konpachi is everyone's favourite! Don't know the queen in thick make-up beside him though.

Photobucket
9. One of the reasons I don't regret going there =)

Photobucket
10. I'm not exactly a Star Wars fan..

Photobucket
Oh it's Mr. Counter Terrorist!

Photobucket
11. Your highness!

32 contestants will be chosen and proceed to the second round. This time they became a chess piece!

Photobucket
The chess board. Probably a work of Professor McGonagall..

Photobucket

When it’s time to ‘eat’ the opponent, there is a few seconds of battle between them. Everyone seemed to like Hell Boy. Understandable. Strong, massive, hellish and red!

I especially hated Tamaki (Ouran High School Host Club) in that competition. When it's his turn to ‘eat’, he kept on blabbering some charming nonsense to some 17+ years old girl. Oh,and his about 12 years old -_-“. I loved it when he met his doom against the almighty Hell Boy (although the Hell Boy has a very strong Chinese accent)! For example, “Die la you! Come to hell with me la!”

Too bad, I missed to see who the winner was because it was late and we had to rush to Malacca…

Oh well…

Photobucket
12. The middle is Yuna (Final Fantasy X and X-2).

Keep on visiting for more!

Pavilion - Just Another Mega Mall

As the title suggest, Pavilion is just another huge shopping complex in Malaysia. When I think about it in a Brunei's point of view, I feel really sad.

Well of course Brunei is way peaceful than Malaysia. Heck, Brunei is probably the most peaceful nation in the whole wide world. In Malaysia, everyday is a highlight. If it's not about crazy car accident, then it will be about someone being raped or killed or both. So I really appreciate the serenity Brunei has provided.

Photobucket
A courtesy of Desmond.

But come on, the lack of entertainment in Brunei is driving me nuts. What do we have here? The Mall, Harun's Gym (In my case xp), jungles, the crappy Jerudong Park, jungles, jungles and jungles. Ok, I'm a lil bit over now. We must let the Earth go green again! Woohoo... hoo... ho...

Photobucket
I am starting to like this picture XP.

Back to business.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, aunties (yes that includes you all Ssams too) and uncles... Pavilion!

Photobucket
Entrance.

Photobucket

Photobucket
Ah~~~ C'est Magnifique!

Photobucket

Photobucket

It seems like everywhere is competing for the best looking Christmas tree. Good.

Photobucket
There are even people performing carol ON the tree.

Everywhere seems to be white in Pavilion. Really gives you a kind of unexplainable feeling.

Photobucket

It's just too big to explore. In the end, I bought nothing at all.

Nothing much to talk about in this post but expect more in the future.

By Nazrin, Den Corp's only N....

[Updated]
Just for the record, Pavilion is in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

A Really Long Day

..........................................................................................................................................................................
Short talk from the unknown (Trust me you don't really know me):

Just returned from Malaysia. Been there for 10 days. There's a lot to tell, and of course I won't post it in this one entry. So let's get started.
..........................................................................................................................................................................

There's not much for me to tell about the day I departed except that the Brunei International Airport is still pitiful even after all these years. My flight was delayed for about 1 hour 30 minutes -_-"

I'm flying with Air Asia by the way. So it landed at LCCT - Low Cost Carrier Terminal, a few kilometres away from KLIA. The name sounds a bit offensive to me, don't you think so?

It was very late when we arrived plus another extra 15-30 minutes delay, so we went to my uncle's apartment straight away to sleep.

Photobucket
A nice view of the KL Tower from my Uncle's apartment.

After a few hours sleep, we walked to KLCC. Yea, walked. Due to the constant bad traffic in KL, it is better to walk. Along the way, we spotted a few manufacturing companies. Since it's free, we decided to visit Beryl's Chocolate House.

And to my astonishment, I saw Willy Wonka!

Nah, just kidding. Bolivian joke -_-

Photobucket
A promotion from Beryl's.

Inside...

Photobucket

Photobucket
Don't ask me what this is.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Oh, these guys have a lot of chocolate variations too. From the original nut chocolates to some tasteless chocolates (What's the point...) and to a surprising curry chocolate! Man, there are a lot people with funny ideas in this world...

Photobucket
AHA! Caught the errr... what do you call those chocolate makers again?

Photobucket
Ah~ A fine masterpiece.

Photobucket
Presenting my two cute little cousins!

After that, we continued to KLCC. On the way, on the same area, I spotted...

Photobucket

Aunties Ssam! Man, it must be a combined business of a lot of Aunties Ssam... and a gathering of a lot of people with the same name is very very rare and so coincidental, and we're talking about a group of Ssam! How many people do you know with the name Ssam??

Not long later, I spotted this.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Creeeeeeeepy! And a lot of dogs too! Another manufacturing company perhaps? Ssam's Dog-olate House... Lame~

Finally we reached KLCC.

Photobucket

Sickly tall Chritsmas tree. Which other place is more fitting to put a very tall tree than KLCC, one of the tallest buldings in the world?

We had our lunch at Madam Kwan's, a luxurious local cuisine restaurant... and that means expensive food too.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket
Forgive my bad camera skill.

When I say expensive, I mean it. RM14.20 for a freaking nasi lemak?! I didn't order it, instead I decided to try on the famous nasi bojari.

Photobucket
A freakin' huge chicken.

All and all, I recommended anyone who's planning to go to Malaysia to try the foods here, although the service was really bad actually. The waiters and waitresses seemed to be in a very bad mood at all times even though we were the only customers at that time. Oh well...

By the way, the toilet is outside the restaurant. Meaning, the restaurant is using KLCC's public toilet. There's no washroom in the so called luxurious restaurant.

Photobucket
The sickly huge tree ends up here.

Next stop, Kinokuniya...

Photobucket

...the largest book store company in the world... I think.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Kinokuniya is also part library. So you can just pick your favourite book, sit down on the floor and have fun reading it. Seriously no one will bother you.

Photobucket
Viewing from Kinokuniya.

Then after some shoppings, we returned home.

Wait! There's more! We walked to Petaling Street later that night. Imagine the bazaar at Bandar, the one in front of Pizza Hut. Now multiply it by 8 and imagine it to be a little compact, and you will have Petaling Street.

There were a lot of gangsters doing businesses there! A lot of stuffs to choose from too! From small key chain souvenirs to football jerseys to adult magazines to adult movies and to what I suspected to be prostitution promotion.

Sorry for no pictures. I was too afraid of bringing my mobile phone. My uncle claimed to feel someone touching his back pocket while hanging in the packed street.

A Weird Ass Phone call

I received a weird phone call yesterday afternoon, just before I was going out for lunch.

Photobucket

The caller was a lady and she spoke with mainland China accent. She's said she's from some company and wanted to conduct a survey and ask me a few questions. The conversation goes like this:

Me: Hello?
Caller: Hello sir? May I know if you understand and speak Mandarin?
Me: Erm.. Yeah, I speak Mandarin.
Caller: Ok sir, I'm from some company and I wanted to know which part of Brunei is an ideal place for tourists?
Me: Erm... Maybe.. the Capital?
Caller: Oh, you mean the Bandar Capital?
Me: Uh huh, yeah..
Caller: Ok sir, then may I please know your name?
Me: Erm.. My surname is 'Chen'.
Caller: Ok, and may I know your English name too?
Me: Jerry.
Caller: And how do you spell that?
Me: J-E-R-R-Y.
Caller: Oh ok, and sir, from your voice, I can tell that you're still very young. You must be in your 20s right?
Me: Erm.. I'm only 17 years of age.
Caller: Oh.. So you're still school bound?
Me: Yes.
Caller: Ok, may I know your parents' name too?
Me: Erm.... *think for a while* I think there's no need for that, sorry. And erm.. I'm sorry, I'm in a hurry now, so if you don't mind, I'll hang up for now.
Caller: Ok sir, I guess it's good bye then.
Me: Oh ok, thank you.

I don't understand why did I say 'Thank You' in the end. Maybe thank her for speaking with me? The whole thing just raises my suspicion towards them.

I have no idea how the lady reached my home's telephone number. It could be that she simply dialed any 6-digits number and called. If she wanted to know where is a good place for sightseeing in Brunei, she would've called a travel agent, NOT by simply dialing any 6-digits number.

I suggested her that the Capital might be a good place, since we got the wonderful SOAS Mosque and Kampung Ayer at the Capital. The Venice of the East. Mai siaw..

Photobucket

Initially, I wanted to suggest Empire Hotel, but changed my mind instead. Maybe they don't even know Empire. Also, Gadong is also a good place, but I don't know how do to say 'Gadong' in Mandarin.

Photobucket

I have to say, throughout the whole conversation, I have been very careful not to say something which I shouldn't. My first thought to all of this was a scam probably from China or HK.

And at this moment, it absolutely feels like when someone keeps telling and asking you something which you don't feel really comfortable about and all you can do is by thinking 'What the f*ck?' continuously.

Photobucket

But the lady didn't ask for any money, maybe because I'm still a youth, although she thinks I'm like 20+ or older.

In the whole afternoon yesterday, I was waiting to see if the lady might call again. Maybe I can record the whole conversation. But she never called again.

What do this lady have in mind? What could she be up to?

Suvarnabhumi Airport

I feel so regret that I have to check out of my hotel so fast. I still have yet a lot more places to visit in Thailand, but the time is too short and I have to face the reality, it's time to check out.

Photobucket
The check-in and out counter for Space Zone (not for us)

But before I leave the hotel, I had a little sip of the fruit cocktail (again), but this time at the hotel lobby.

Photobucket

To say the truth, I didn't really finish drinking the cocktail as I'm rushing to shop for new t-shirts and pants at the market.

We then hop on to the hotel's shuttle van and head towards the Suvarnabhumi Airport.

When we reached the airport, it took us quite a while to look for the entrance for erm.. Bruneians?

Photobucket

And then we finally found it, it's entrance #9. Very far behind.

Photobucket

I'm given a very important task here, to push the baggage trolleys.

Photobucket

But then when we tried to go through the entrance, the door won't slide open. People who were inside signalled us that the door is not working and we have to use the other door instead.

Photobucket

As it was around noon already, we then went to eat at the airport. There are so many eateries and restaurants here, but some of the cuisines doesn't suit us, so we went to a Chinese restaurant instead.

Photobucket

Not a bad name for a "not bad" restaurant. There's a plasma TV here but no one's interested in watching the TV 'cause the TV was playing the DVD menu of the movie X-Men 3. Just the menu, not playing the movie ok??? So bored. It would've been better if they turn off the TV instead.

Photobucket

The waitresses here take orders by means of PDA.

Ok, I'm lazy enough to talk about the airport anymore. It's just too big and I'm just to tired blog about it, or maybe, I don't know how to blog about the airport.

Anyways, here are the pictures of inside the airport.

Siam Discovery

Continuing my journey in Thailand..

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Standing on one of the very top floors of my hotel may be cool, being able to stand so many hundred feet above people, overlooking them like ants, but the view has been badly polluted by haze.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

To say the truth, the Thai Phrase Book I bought how many months ago seems quite useless. I didn't even try to speak Thai by referring to the book 'cause if I did, I would've looked like an idiot on the streets.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

It would've been better if I'd used that money to buy some Lonely Planets travel guide.

Three things I've discovered in Bangkok:

1. The public toilets are very clean.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Almost all of the toilets I've been to in Bangkok are very clean indeed. Air fresheners have been constantly sprayed overtime in the toilets so that it won't stink, so, eventhough the toilet's full of people who's suffered from diarrhea, the toilet might still smell like heaven.

2. Thailand have colorful public phones and cars.

As soon as I've landed in Thailand, I've already seen hundreds of colorful taxis especially in pink, yellow and light blue.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

If that's not enough, their public phone comes in these colors too.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

3. Thai people drives VERY recklessly.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Thai people, no matter they are young or old, and no matter what type of transport they drive, be it cars, taxis, buses, tuk tuks, motorbikes, scooters, lorries or even bicycles, they drive very very recklessly. Anywhere on the road can be a U-turn. The drivers steps on the gas very hard. Ridiculous.

And, on two occasions, I've been mistaken as Thai. The first experience was when I was at the century old market in Suphanburi.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I was walking into the market until somebody strongly grabbed my arm and pulled me over. The guy spoke in very fast Thai and I wasn't even able to catch any ball. I gave a very puzzled and awkward face and it was only then he realized I'm not a local.

While speaking in Thai, he handed me his digital camera and then I realized that he wanted me to help him take some photos of him and his party. I then helped him take some photos, and returned his digital camera like a good boy. =)

Another occasion was at MBK Centre.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I was waiting for my mum and sister outside a handbag store while they're still busy choosing handbags. Then, an Indian women came to the store, looked around, and then approached me, how many Bahts for these?

I was thinking, "Walau eh auntie, do I really look like a worker here?" I wore as casual as I can and she thought I'm a worker. Ridiculous.

Also on the same day, as we were tired after shopping, we went to Swensens to treat ourselves some desserts.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Teenagers in Thailand hanging out at Swensens

The business seems really good here that the place is almost full.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

But what I'm disappointed is, the huge price difference between Swensens of Thailand and Swensens of Brunei.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

They both tastes equally delicious, but we paid nearly half the price in Thailand compared to in Brunei.

Nevertheless, I was also able to taste Thailand's Pineapple Rice.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Tastes better than normal white rice with a slight taste of pineapple.

The Loy Krathong Festival

My days in Thailand coincides with one of Thailand's festival - Loy Krathong.

So, one evening, as me and my family are about to leave the hotel for dinner and shopping at Central World, we saw a group of people, especially the press and a group of women wearing Thai traditional clothes with each of them holding a raft.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

These rafts are made and decorated with leaves, flowers, candles and incense sticks. People then release these rafts onto the Chap Phraya River and making their wishes at the same time. I saw a lot of these rafts for sale on the streets but I didn't buy any of them. A simple, small raft would cost as cheap as 90 baht I think.

These women who carry the raft with them are waiting for the elevator, and seems like they are going to one of the very top floors.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Well, I can't really say the women are good looking here..

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

OHMYGOD.

Seems like unemployment isn't a problem for aunties here in Thailand.

I was also quite surprised to see that there's a guy, half-naked, among the women and his body is fully covered with powder. At my first glance, I thought it's a woman. But it wouldn't be very nice also if it's a woman, and, bare chested?

After that, I went off, without waiting for them to get on the elevator (what for?).

Anyways, I've managed to get some pictures of the best decorated raft? I don't know much about it, but when I came back from Central World, there are these rafts being put on display at the lobby.

Chilling at Rooftop Bar & Music

Since I really really don't have anything to blog about, I'll continue to write about my trip at Bangkok at the end of last month.

On my second night in Thailand, my uncle asked if I wanted to go to the highest floor of the 84-storey-tall hotel we lived in. Asked about what we'll do at the highest floor, my uncle told me that there is a bar on that floor and the view from there is terrific.

None of my family members wanted to go that night, not even my dad. So I "boarded" the elevator alone from the 51st floor to the 83rd floor, and almost immediately, I felt the air pressure.

The bar is on the 83rd floor, not the 84th floor.

I then met up with my uncle there. It was around 12.30am that time.

The bar is very dark, and most of the light comes from neon and somewhat more colorful than I thought.

The place is also full of noises. Not really noises, but it took me quite a while to realize that there is a live band performing on stage.

On the stage, there are not just one, but three female singers, a drummer and a keyboard player. The three female singers, being the lead vocals of the band are singing to a familiar song which I can't remember what the song title is. One of the singer was having such a hard time trying to do a very high pitched voice at one point of the chorus.

Aiyah, sing until so life-hard.. How would you be able to perform nicely on a live concert?

Hmmm...

Maybe if "Wong Lo Kat" act as the official drinks sponsor might help.

Me and my uncle chose a seat near where the people are singing. We were given a small menu to choose what food to order from.

We then placed our order and, at the same time, the waitress served us with free popcorns. My uncle was curious and tried the popcorn but after taking just a few bites, my uncle was about to request the waitress to have the popcorn taken away, claiming it tastes like crap.

But I haven't tried the popcorn yet! So I quickly stop him from doing it and took it back.

Ok, since my uncle won't be eating the popcorns again, I tried the popcorn to see what "crap" tastes like.

It was actually salted popcorn! Even The Mall Cineplex's salted popcorn tasted better!

Shortly, our "food" arrived. And we ordered mixed nuts. No foods here, but snacks.

And what I did that time was, eating nuts.. watch people singing.. eating nuts.. watch people singing.. eating nuts.. watch people singing.. eating nuts.. watch people singing.. eating nuts.. wahh! Totally different from what I've imagined!

I also ordered cocktail as drinks. Fruit cocktail, not alcoholic cocktails.

And then, half way eating the nuts, the band then left the stage and went to somewhere else to rest I think, leaving the stage empty while we were left listening to some of the most recent English hits song.

But then again, the band returned in less than 15 minutes.

This time, the guy who played the keyboard is the one who sing while the three girls did the cha cha on stage.

As it was getting late already, we finished eating the nuts and our drinks quickly and then went back to our hotel rooms respectively.

At least now I know what the view from 83rd floor looks like!

The 16th Birthday Party Of A Guy Who Doesn't Look Like 16

Went to Ayman's place today and celebrated his 16th birthday. Please forgive me for the title of this post. At least I thought you look more mature than you really are. Hehe.

When I first reached his place, Nazrin, Gary, Lorenzo and Andy are the only ones arrived. Ayman is also there, of course. They were playing Final Fantasy XII at that time.

Nahri, Faiz, Wafi and Jimbo arrived shortly after that. We also played P.E.S. 2008.

Normally, when we "guys" go to someone's place for a birthday party or celebration, we would do some "activities" like playing games and so on.

But today, we did the same thing. We played games, and guess what?

We played DDR..

Yeah, the Dance Dance Revolution thingy. Jimbo, who just arrived at Ayman's place saw a couple of us playing DDR and dubbed us as GAYs. What the HELL, right? But he was joking, of course.

I'll understand if we are playing DDR in a girl's birthday party, but in Ayman's party? I have no idea man.

But since he just bought the DDR mat recently, we then resort to play DDR. It was only today that I realised the guys are actually quite good in DDR, but I suck at it so badly.

I can't even pass the whole stage, and failed miserably.

Ayman has to be the best among us, as the DDR mat belongs to him. So energetic when he plays, jumping around here and there. Must have his own "kung fu" in DDR already.

There are quite a lot of songs to choose from too.

Owh man, I suck at this kind of games.. And O2Jam, Guitar Hero are no exceptions.. Arggghh!

Slow reflexes now have a price to pay..

Anyways, I hereby wish Ayman a Happy 16th Brithday and all the best.

Yeah, this is his 2nd cake. We had 2 birthday cakes to choose from today.
